How Desiccant Based Dry air generators works?
In the dry air generators desiccant use as drying element that’s system is also called as
desiccant dryer system. Let us see how desiccant based dry air generators works.
A desiccant dryer use chemical called desiccant to remove
moister from compress gas. Too commonly use desiccant is silica gel and activated
alumina.
Desiccant is contented into two tanks drier also has a gas
inlet, a gas outlet, a waste gas outlet, two heating coils, two devices that is
known as for way or reversing valves. At any particular time one of the two
tanks is set to be active and active tank contain dry desiccant that is used to
remove moister from compressed gas. In the other tank desiccant is being dry
and regenerated. There dry air mechanism setup each tank either be active tank
or regeneration tank depend on the position of for way valves.
Desiccant in the active tank remove moister from the gas that
flow through it. Most of the dry gas leaves to drier through the gas outlet
however a portion of the dry gas is route to the regeneration tank to help dry
the desiccant in that tank. The heating coil in the regeneration tank is energize
to heat the gas that passes to the tank. The hot gas makes dry desiccant in the
tank. There gas that leaves regeneration tank through the waste gas outlet is
make the regeneration tank moister free and make it ready to perform as main
tank.
Switching back and forth between tanks is often control by
timer. After one tank is been
regenerated for period of time, the timer changes the position of the for way
valves. This way the desiccant that was regenerated used to dry the gas, while the
desiccant that used to dry the gas is regenerate.
Compressed gas that is clean and dry usually stored until it
is needed in the facility. Typically container called receivers that used for
this purpose. Receivers are large tanks that stores compressed gas, so the
compressors don’t have to operator regularly. That’s all a dry air generators works.
